ACCESS Eligibility Requirements

Kitsap Transit ACCESS is designed to provide transportation for seniors and people with disabilities who are unable to use Kitsap Transit regular routed buses.  To qualify for ACCESS service, you must have at least one of the following conditions:

• You are physically unable to get to or from a regular Kitsap Transit bus stop.
• You are unable to understand and follow transit directions or understand information signs for reasons other than language or literacy even if travel trained.
• Women who are in their last trimester of pregnancy and determined to be "high risk" by their physician.*
• If you are between age 60 and 79 and transportation disadvantaged.* [Conditional Eligibility]
• If you are over age 80 you are automatically eligible (you will still need to complete an eligibility application)

*A temporary six-month eligibility would be allowed for women determined to be at "high risk" by a physician and entering their last trimester of pregnancy. Eligibility would continue through the first three months following delivery. Women who live on a fixed service bus route would be eligible for trip-by-trip service on ACCESS for destinations that are not on a route.

Kitsap Transit eligibility criteria is governed by the ADA Federal Transit Regulations.
