Kitsap Transit is proposing a 250 space park and ride lot with a transfer center for 5 bus bays nearby to the SR 305/SR 3 interchange.
We have negotiated a land purchase comprising nearly 5 acres located at 21992 Viking Avenue NW in the light industrial zone of North Poulsbo. The project will introduce new “green” concepts for handling stormwater, improvements in illumination, and will be bicycle friendly and have pedestrian connections to nearby neighborhoods.
$1,900,000 in funding is being provided through a WSDOT public transportation grant. Property acquisition is being100% federally funded by the Federal Transportation Administration.
KT has hired the architectural firm of TCF Architecture for the preliminary planning phase and obtaining the necessary permits. Acoustical sound studies, geotechnical, biological and environmental, cultural resource and arborist’s reports have contributed to the preliminary planning.
