Silverdale Transit Center – Proposed Routed Bus Service Changes and Public Hearing

Kitsap Transit is making significant changes to its fixed-route structure this summer with the opening of the new Silverdale Transit Center on Ridgetop Boulevard.

The proposed changes include adding two new local Silverdale routes, adding hours and frequency on some routes, redrawing route patterns to serve the new transit center, adding or moving bus stops and eliminating three routes. Affected routes include:

• Route 212–Bremerton/Silverdale West
• Route 217–Bremerton/Silverdale East
• Routes 221–Perry and 223–Kariotis
• Routes 235– East Silverdale/Old Town and 237–West Silverdale/Fairgrounds (removed)
• Routes 265–Silverdale Circle and 266–Silverdale Central (new routes)
• Route 301–North Kitsap Fast Ferry
• Route 332–Poulsbo/Myhre 
• Route 333–Silverdale/Bainbridge (removed)
• Route 338–Gateway Bainbridge (resumes service)

Sunday bus service will begin in Port Orchard, Silverdale and Poulsbo on Sunday, June 16. See our press release for details. 

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Kitsap Transit Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed bus service changes for the new Silverdale Transit Center at 8:30 AM on May 7, 2024, or as soon thereafter as possible. Public meetings are currently facilitated virtually through hybrid meeting options including both in-person and Zoom. Information and attendance instructions will be posted with the May 7, 2024, Board of Commissioners Meeting Agenda and will be available on Kitsap Transit’s website at www.kitsaptransit.com.

A public comment period is established between March 11, 2024, and May 6, 2024. Written testimony, including email, must be received by Jackie Bidon, Interim Clerk of the Board; 60 Washington Avenue, Suite 200; Bremerton, WA 98337 or JacquelynB@kitsaptransit.com no later than 4:00 PM on Monday, May 6, 2024, to be considered at the May 7, 2024 public hearing.
