Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is Kitsap Transit Emergency Service?
A: Emergency Service is designed to connect Kitsap’s communities using arterial roads. Buses serve major roadways between Bainbridge, Poulsbo, Silverdale, Bremerton and Port Orchard. Local and fast ferries will still operate if sailing conditions are deemed acceptable.
Q: Why is the bus not showing up on the KTTracker.com website when Emergency Services are activated?
A: Unfortunately, there is no way for buses to show their real-time location when Emergency Services are activated. Call customer service at 1800.501.7433 to see if they can help you locate a bus.
Q: What is the Emergency Service Schedule?
A: During Emergency Service operations, buses will not follow a regular schedule. Click here for start and end-of-service times.
Q: Do I need to be at a marked stop to wait for the Bus?
A: Yes, please use existing bus stops to catch the bus.
• If your stop is on a hill, please walk to a stop on flat ground.
• When tow trucks, plows, sanders or abandoned vehicles are blocking a portion of the street near your stop, walk to the nearest stop on a clear street.
• Give yourself plenty of time to get to the bus stop in the snow and dress warmly.
• When you see the bus, step back from the curb onto the sidewalk or grass. Wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before approaching the door.
• The floor of the bus may be slippery.
