They provide a valuable and essential service to our community. Salary (as of Oct. 2021): $20.52/hour during probation, then $20.92/hour. Make $28.52/hour at the seventh year of employment. Minimum Qualifications & Entry Requirements
- Must be at least 20 years old at the time of hire
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid WA State Driver’s License
- Obtain and maintain a CDL
- Pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check

- Retirement (pension): Kitsap Transit participates in the Washington State Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS).
- Vacation/Sick (PTO) Pay: Full-time drivers earn 22 days of leave a year, pro-rated accrual based on hours worked.
- Holiday Pay: Full-time drivers receive nine paid scheduled holidays, plus two floating days.
