Update: BI Ride and Survey of Bainbridge Island

Effective immediately

Effective immediately, BI Ride, Kitsap Transit's on-demand shared-ride service on Bainbridge Island, is now a fully on-demand service without scheduled timepoints. Starting on July 7, the public could book and track rides through the Ride Pingo mobile app, a 12-month pilot project with The Routing Company. BI Ride operates 8:45AM-3:30PM on weekdays (last ferry dropoff at 3:50PM) and 9AM-6PM on Saturdays (4PM-6PM by advance booking only). Rides are FREE in July.

The on-demand service is performing well enough that Kitsap Transit is making all rides on BI Ride fully on demand. This means that BI Ride will no longer depart the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal at set times; instead, customers can schedule a ride through the app or by calling 1.844.424.7433.

How to schedule a pickup while you’re at the Seattle dock or aboard Washington State Ferries:

  • When you open the Ride Pingo app and enter details of Your Journey, change "Current Location" to "Ferry Dock, Bainbridge Island" and enter your destination in the "Where To?" field.
  • Then in the upper-right corner, click Schedule Trip. Select a time that is at least 45 minutes later than the time your ferry left the Seattle dock and click the "Confirm" button.

Survey of Bainbridge Island residents and workers

Bainbridge Island residents and workers are also invited to take a Kitsap Transit survey. Everyone who completes the survey is entered in a drawing. The drawing's winner can choose from a $150 Town & Country gift card or a Google Nest Hub Max.
