Study Underway to Evaluate Potential
Fast-Ferry Landing Sites in Seattle

Passenger-only ferry (POF) service on Puget Sound connects communities on both sides of the water. Ridership on POF routes, including Kitsap Transit’s Fast Ferry service, is growing, as is interest in additional routes to serve the region.

The existing POF landing site in downtown Seattle —Pier 50—can only accommodate two ferries at one time, making it increasingly difficult to maintain service reliability, let alone pursue service and/or route expansions.

To address this challenge, Kitsap Transit is currently evaluating options for an alternative downtown Seattle landing site. The Seattle Fast-Ferry Terminal Siting Study is underway and will continue through summer 2021 when a preferred alternative will be identified.
