Temporary Fare-Free Period
Extended Through July 31

Kitsap Transit stopped collecting fares on all of its services starting on March 23 and is extending the temporary suspension through the end of July to help limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

The temporary fare-free policy applies to all services, including Routed, ACCESS, Worker/Driver, vanpool, and ferries.

Passenger Loads on Buses and Ferries

Current capacity on Kitsap Transit buses is about 25-30% depending on bus size to maintain proper distancing.

First responders and health-care workers affected by this service reduction who need transportation assistance can contact 360.479.7272.

Maximum passenger loads on Kitsap Transit ferries will continue to be 46 passengers on each sailing.

Health care workers and first responders should stand in the same line with other passengers and must arrive at least 10 minutes before a scheduled sailing to be eligible for priority boarding in case the sailing reaches capacity. For health care workers, only official medical-facility ID badges will be accepted (no contractors or subcontractors).

Suspension of Bremerton Fast-Ferry Reservations Continues.
